What is a Dyno?

A dyno is an expensive piece of equipment that a technician has to go through intensive training to operate. This machine will allow your motorcycle to be ridden on to determine the torque and horsepower that you motorcycle can produce. It can be used as a diagnostic tool, but is mainly used for performance measures. It is used to aid in the tuning of motorcycles by analyzing the exhaust gases at all RPM ranges and throttle positions. This is a more accurate way of tuning versus trying to tune by using "the seat of your pants" method, or guessing. Guessing can lead to the motorcycle running too lean/rich in different RPM ranges/throttle position and potentially lead to detrimental motor damage.
