Service When is my first service?
The first service on your new Harley is at 1,000 miles (500 on Buell and Crossbones models).
This is a very important service. The service includes inspection of the entire bike to ensure that everything is properly breaking in.
What is included is the following: changing oils, filter, lubricating cables/pivoting points, inspecting spark plugs, cleaning air filter element, re-adjusting and alignment of the rear belt, inspection of brakes/pads and the wear, tightening all the critical fasteners on the motorcycle, as well as several safety related items being inspected.
Longhorn H-D uses a check list (that covers everything recommended by the Harley-Davidson service manual for each service interval) with each service covering all points that are covered in each service. This is a check list that will be provided to you to keep for your records when you pick up your motorcycle after we perform the service.
